Thats actually a very interesting question honey! Lets travel back in time to find out ;)
Hey mom, whats a empire?
The Roman Empire was very strong! They took many hits but still ended up standing and lasted for over a 1000 years!
An example is The Numantians.
Numantians wanted freedom but the Roman empire noticed they were out of their control. They didn't like this.
In 134 BC, The Romans were in need of help. They sent Scipio Aemlianes, a Roman general
I think instead of using my 30,000 soldiers, we should instead just lock up and starve the Numantians. I'm gonna do it for a year or so, until they can't do it anymore. They all killed themselves instead of giving in.
The romans carried cultural diversity which made them such a strong empire. When they conquered the Numantians, it wasn't all that defined them.
So only after conquering and capturing these places, they were Romans.
SOOOO BASICALLY, An empire is a political It rules over a significant number of people, each with different cultural identity and separate territory. Empires also have flexible borders and a unlimited appetite where they can eat more and more nations/ territories w/o changing its basic structure or identity.
YUP! EXACTLY!
