One day, Mystique went to Jacobs house. She found Jacob extremely upset. She asked what the matter was, and Jacob told her that a kid named Connor from their school was cyber bullying him! He had posted a picture of his new bike, and the comments started piling up from there. Mystique really wanted to help her friend, and she knew exactly what to do!
I just don't know what to do! I've told them to stop, online and in-person, but they just don't!
Don't worry! I know exactly what to do!
The next day at school, Mystique and Jacob went to a staff member that Jacob trusted, the guidance counselor, and told him what the problem was. The guidance counselor was shocked that this had been happening to Jacob, and was glad that he told him. He immediately took action. He asked Jacob to email him the screenshots of the insults that had been said to him online.
I'm glad that Mr. Goodman is going to help him!!
I'm really sorry that you're going through this! Please email me to screenshots, and I'll see if I can contact their parents!
I took screenshots of their comments, and I told them I have proof, but they still didn't stop!
I'm really, really sorry. I was just jealous of your bike because I've always wanted that one, and when your parents bought it for you, I got really upset. I know that's not an excuse to justify what I said, but I just wanted you to know...
First, Mr. Goodman informed Connor's parents about the situation, and told them that he would speak to Connor during school. During class, Connor was pulled out to speak with Mr. Goodman. They had a long talk about kindness and digital footprints. Then, Mr. Goodman pulled Jacob out so that Connor could speak to him. Connor profusely apologized to Jacob for what he commented, and said that he was just jealous of Jacob's new bike. Jacob understood what Connor was telling him, and he forgave Connor. Finally, Connor went home and called Mystique. He thanked her over and over for what she did for him, and he was very appreciative of her efforts to help him.
I completely understand! I don't think that your reaction was okay, but I'm glad to know why you did what you did. I know that feeling, and I get it. I forgive you.
I'm glad you both were able to resolve this issue! I hope you both now know how to handle a situation like this in the future!
