The school started with 4 nuns called by Bishop Stewart to run a primary school in Nathalia in 1961. The nuns were FMDM sisters and came here from England. The nun's names were SR Maureen, SR Ann Kiely, SR Mona Welsh and SR Josephine Lanigan.
Our 3 house/saints
The school opened on February 18th with3 classrooms, an office and a corridor. The school had 120 primary students and 5 secondary students. The FMDM sisters helped the community to build the school.
How we show our Francican faith
The school has changed by having buses, one of the first buses just went to Tocumwal and Cobram and started operating in 1975. In 1977 the FMDM sisters made a new school called St Francis to be just for grades kinder-6
Motto/logo
Yellow- St Francis- St Francis' feast day in on the 4th October. Blue- St Clare- St Clare was born in 1493. Red-St Elizabeth- St Elizabeth died in 1231.

Thy Will Be Done. The motto is a symbol of what the virgin Mary said after the angel said to her that she was going to have the lords child and she was afraid but she said that if its Gods plan "Thy Will Be Done". The dove is a symbol of the holy spirit.
