The late days of extra sunlight and seeing the golden sky is about to change since it is going into another season
The golden days of late October fade
Since it turning into the colder weather, the sun isn't really producing more heat and the temperatures are dropping
Now leans against the south walls, cold and tired
The tone the author sets is a sad tone because it shows that she feel miserable that the colder weather is coming in. She uses words like "cold and tired" (6) and another word like "bleak" (2). This shows that she was dreading the future weather coming because she likes summer way more. She describes the summer weather as "golden" (1) and was talking about the "besieged" ( 5) heat that came with the summer. This leaves an affect on the readers too, because they feel what the author is describing in the poem.
The turn of the poem is when the author hits line 7. She accepts the defeat of the weather changing and knows she really can't change the fact that the weather is going to change. She is not happy with the weather at first but then she learns to accept it. After the turn this teaches readers something that sometimes change is good, or that you just have to learn to adapt to changes.
This line means that the summer weather is starting to fade as it does every year and it makes the author upset that its fading
All times of summer fade, as fade as they must
This line resembles embrace and just to soak in the change. It won't last forever. It will be like the seasons and change and eventually you just have to accept it
Embrace what time remains; it will not last
