Ah the thermoscope by Philo of Byzantium.
This uses the same science as Philo
But it is more accurate because the increase of water or decrease would show us the temperature.
Later all the way in 1590 a astronomer called Galileo galilei used the experiment of philo and made his own model of a thermoscope.
These thermoscope things are starting to get famous
Maybe I should try making one.
This was an amazing invention. Until he found out he couldn't carry it because it would break on his foot.
However some changes still need to be changed. The mercury inside a thermometer is very toxic and can change your nervous system and digestive system. Also we cant have big thermometers because then its inaccurate and we can't have small thermometers because they are to brittle.

In 1612 a man by the name of Santorio Santorimade the first thermoscope with a scale.
Santorio didnt just make the first thermoscope with a scale but he also made the first medical thermoscope and it was supposed to go into a patient's mouth.
