With more than 500 languages extinct, the extinction of languages is a global issue that needs to be resolved. The root causes of this issue are globalization, modernization, migration, socioeconomic advantages, discrimination, and climate change (talks more in detail about each root cause). When a language disappears, the heritage, diversity, and culture behind the language are lost. Information that was collected throughout the years of the language being developed is also lost, which can impact sustainability and our advancements for the future!

We can individually work towards eliminating this issue by learning new languages, spreading awareness about the issue, preserving resources to help learn the language, and not giving up on your language!
