- That doesn't even compare to what they did next, they added a Literacy Test that you have to pass so you can vote and even former slaves that are now citizens can now take it and all the work that we put in to keep the union and now southerners can come and vote if they pass the test!?
- The test for me is not a problem because I went to school and have an education but the thought that southern former slaves and blacks that can teach themselves or teach each other how to read and write and then go take the test to vote gets me mad.
- There was also one more thing that they did umm... what was it... OH yeah that thing about if our grandfather couldn't vote then we can't ether and vice versa I think it was called Grandfather Clause. Honesty that doesn't really affect me since my grandfather could vote.
- I think this is actually one of the better ones from the three because you have to have a grandfather that is also eligible to vote and southerners don't have education meaning they can't vote so it's not that bad.
- But it's unfortunate that some white northerners who have grandfathers that can't vote but that's just how it is.
