- "I volunteer as tribute!"
- The main character in Hunger Games is Katniss Everdeen. She lives in District 12 in this scene she is hunting with her friend Gale.
- Climax
- The Capitol is treated better than the Districts. District 12 lives in poverty, and are starving. They are forced to play in the Hunger Games, whereas the Capitol doesn't. Two people a girl and a boy are picked from each districts to fight to the death for the Capitols entertainment.
- Falling Action
- "Stop! Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the winners of the 74th annual Hunger Games"
- Katniss Everdeen volunteers for her sister, Primrose Everdeen when she is chosen as the female tribute in District 12
- Resolution
- The Hunger Games finally begin when all the tributes must grab food and weapons. Katniss is in the middle, Glimmer is on the right, and Clove is on the left. Katniss sees a bow and a bag of arrows.
- Peeta and Katniss are the last two standing. They decide to both eat the poisonous nightlock berries. But then Seneca Crain announces they are the winners.
- The story ends when both Peeta and Katniss are crowned by President Snow because they are victors of the Hunger Games. However President Snow knows how Katniss really feels
