- Being a farmer in this country is getting more difficult as the days go by.
- Namaskar! My name is Rajesh, and I am from Haryana, India. This is my farm.
- Talking about money, the interest rates here are so high too. Many money-lenders dealing with farmers take advantage of us who are often in great debts.
- I love my job, but we farmers face many problems in India, especially in 2020. Small farmers like me cannot even get good seeds, because they are so expensive now!
- I know there are many government schemes to benefit farmers, but they don't reach us smalller ones , while the wealthier landlords benefit greatly!
- Irrigation is also a great struggle for me. I rely on rainwater for irrigation, but it is unreliable. Sometimes, water is not enough, sometimes, it's too much. I do not have money to access to better irrigation facilities.
- I have to follow primitive farming methods because farmers like me do not have enough resources to use heavier machinery. This makes my products lesser and slower developed compared to others. :(
- Still, these problems are but a few. Poor storage and transportation facilities make my crops of less value in the market.
- We are India's backbone! So help your farmers, and let's aim for a better future, especially since the 2020 pandemic.
- You can help make our lives better, though. Providing farmers education in rural areas, crop insurance, and agro-modernisation can help us greatly.
