As a lowly 7th grader, my enrichment language arts class read the novel "The Outsiders." As I read, I found some of the characters attractive, like Sodapop. Soda, to me, was a great guy, and the class knew I said he was hot.
It wasn't just Sodapop, though. I found Ponyboy to have a great personality. I liked him a lot too, even though the class knew Soda was mine.
Stay Gold Ponyboy
I remember watching the movie with the class. Everyone in the class knew I would drool at the sight of Sodapop Curtis.
Lesson: never have crushes on fictional characters.
My class actually thought I'd make out with Soda. Even Miss Ryan discovered my infatuation for him.
Maybe I was obsessed. I had a "Stay Gold Ponyboy" necklace and I wore it every day.
I kind of regret having a crush on characters, because I wouldn't get to be with them, no matter how much I love them. The book was great, and so was the movie (I got it on DVD for my birthday), but I've moved on.
