Activity Overview
In order to facilitate better discussions regarding democracy, it's important that students are familiar with the key terminology. This allows students to understand and articulate ideas and concepts and provides them with a common base from which to draw on. In this activity, students will create a visual vocabulary word that defines and illustrates key vocabulary for democracy. Students may select from the list of terms below, and teachers can also provide additional terms they would like students to define.

Student Instructions
Create a spider map defining and illustrating key vocabulary terms for Democracy.
- Click "Start Assignment".
- Write the terms you have chosen in the title boxes.
- In the description boxes, write a definition of the term and it's relationship to Democracy.
- Create an illustration for each term using appropriate scenes, characters, and items.
