  • Martin Luther was a Catholic Church reformer who lived in Wittenburg, Germany. He was a German Monk who began the Prostenant reformation period in the 16th century.

  • On the 10th of November 1483, Magarathe Luther gave Birth to Martin Luther in Eisleben, Germany. He was ordained in 1507 and studied at Erfurt University gaining a Doctorate of Theology, later teaching theology and bible studies at Wittenburg University. Martin married his fiancé, Katharina Bon Vora and they had six children. He was 62 when he died on the 18th of February 1546 from a stroke in his sleep.

  • The Catholic Church's selling of indulgences was not a practice that Martin Luther agreed with. The church was selling fake tickets to heaven in exchange for profits to fund the re-building of St Peters Basilica.

  • On the 31st of October, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of Wittenburg Castle Church, in the hope of changing the churches selfish ways. This led to the Protestant reformation period from 1517 - 1648.

  • Martin Luther had a remarkable life which impacted the lives of many others too. He changed the church forever after taking a stand in 1517 when he nailed his 95 theses to the door of Wittenburg castle church. Beginning the prostenant reformation, when his followers separated from the Roman catholic Church this began the Prostenant reformation period. It ended in a split of Prostentanism from the Church and Martin Luther was excommunicated.

  • The impact Martin Luther had on the Catholic church was very significant. It caused the consequences like torture for heretics to be eased and the Spanish inquisition was introduced through his actions, the selling of indulgences was also stopped. After beginning the prostenant reformation his followers abandoned the church but when the Church changed its ways for the better it gained back most of it's followers eventually.
  • The church is now a very different and less selfish place after the impacts of the prostenant reformation and split in the church.
