- In elementary, I was taught to always work hard and strive to do my best because I never wanted to disappoint my teachers who always liked and supported me.
- I joined a theatre summer camp program where I learned how to act and speak in front of a lot of people and was able to come out of my shell.
- In middle school, I found my love for writing and poetry. After working hard for the poetry contest I was able to walk away with a third place certificate and check. That day I realized what I was capable of if I put the effort in.
- I found my love for music and band in high school. Although I wasn't good at the flute in the beginning, with practice I was able to attend the festival with the advanced band where we earned the highest rating .
- I decided to try a new sport which was Cross Country. I wasn't very fast at first, but by pushing myself to my utmost limits I was able to run in varsity towards the end of the season, among people who had ran for years.
- I tried out another new sport, track. Although my season was cut short, I was able to get a good mile time that I had never gotten before. I also tried out something I had never done before, which was hurdles, with preparation and hard work I was able to get a great time for my first time trying them.
