  • Welcome! Please stay for dinner 
  • Telemachus arrived at the home of Menelaus as the sun was setting. He found Menelaus, where a double wedding feast had begun. In honor of his son getting married, and daughter.
  • Hermes, you are now my messenger.
  • In this scene, Telemachus and Helen explain their story and knowledge of Odysseus. Upon hearing their struggles Telemachus began to cry. Menelaus stopped as he noticed his guest crying and said, "Never have I seen a man so young like Odysseus. This must be Telemachus."
  • I am sorry 
  • Meanwhile, in Ithaca, the suitors conduct a plan to sabotage Telemachus trip so that Odysseus doesn't return and that they won't have to leave. Penelope's servant overheard them and their plan to kill Telemachus and tells Penelope that her son left for the voyage. Also, she wasn't to say anything for 12 days.
  • In this scene, Hermes is ordered by Zeus to fly to Calypso and deliver a message to let Odysseus go. He also tells time to tell her to provide Odysessu with materials and items to build a raft and set sail in. 
  • Calypso went out to look for Odysseus and found him sitting on the beach his eyes filled with tears. He was dying of homesickness. Calypso said," My poor fellow I am going too sends you away. So go, cut some wood from my forest and make yourself a large raft. I will also give you a fair wind home."
  • Later on, Poseidon saw Odysseus and became very angry that the gods have been changing their mind about Odysseus. The gods never told him so he gathered winds from all directions and made Odysseus ride rough. After battling many storms Odysseus ended up on a beach shore meeting Nausicca and her maids. She gives him food and invites him to her father's house.
