Information Literacy ComponentsIDENTIFY the nature and extent of the information you need (what information and how much).FIND the information that you need in an effective and efficient manner.EVALUATE the information and sources you find critically.APPLY the information you find effectively in order to accomplish a specific purpose or goal.ACKNOWLEDGE the sources of information that you use.
It is important to remember the 5 components of information literacy. Let's review them.
Now that we have reviewed the information literacy components, let's look at some helpful search strategies.
Search Strategies*Use different search engines. While you may be familiar with using a particular search engine, do not let it restrict you. There are many different search engines available that may produce different findings.* Use specific keywords when searching in order to narrow down the search.*Use keywords such as and, or, and but. -And: 2 concepts that relate-Or: Either concept-Not: Can remove sources that are not relatable
