- yeh, the definition of boyle's law is a law stating that under constant temperature, the pressure of a given maas of an ideal gas is inversely proportional to its volume.

- and you know that Edme Mariotte(1620-1684), a french scientist, independetly found the same law in 1679, but boyle had previously puvlished it in 1662. Mariotte, on the other hand, discovered that air volume fluctuates with temperature, which is why this equation is sometimes known as Mariotte's law or the Boyle-Mariotte law.
