  • Alfred Adler was in favor of the birth order theory. He believed that birth order affected the personality of the child. First born children, for example, were considered to be the "perfect" child who followed rules, stayed organized, had high expectations, was confident, etc.

  • Carl Rogers theorized that personality is based upon every human's want to develop themselves to their fullest potential. He also supported the idea of Humanism, or that all people are basically good.
  • Costa and McCrae were two psychologists who supported "The Big 5" Personality Traits. One of these was openness. When a person is "open" they are more willing to try new things, meet knew people, etc.
  • Han and Sybil Eysenck believed there were two dimensions to personality. One was introversion/extroversion. In other words, they looked at how outgoing and sociable a person was when trying to asses their personality.
