Testo Storyboard

  • Meet Mick Zaford, he is an Irish man living in the potato famine. He does not have a well paying job and has severe home issues. So begins our story.
  • I'm hungry! There are no more potato's!
  • Wow that sounds much better then anything we have here in Ireland! I haven't eaten in 2 days.
  • Mick! Rumor has it that America is the land of oppurtunity where everyone has a job and food is plentiful.
  • As Mick was debating with himself over whether or not to move he fell asleep and dreamt of a new life in America.
  • He saves up enough money to buy a ticket to America. He gets on the ship with high hopes but the uncleanliness of the ship is very unpleasing and disheartening.
  • When he arrives in America, he realizes its not what everyone rumored it to be. Mick is determined though. He will not give up. He begins to search for a job.
  • America was overwhelmed with immigrants so when Mick was searching for a job, there were none to be found. He settled for cleaning stables for little money.
  • NO IRISH NEED APPLY
  • The Irish paid $1.50 weekly for a single room with no water, ventilation, or daylight. They then had to share the same house with 100 or more immigrants.
  • Mick heard rumors of greater potential of food and work in New York. He decided to move. When he arrived he immediately noticed there was less prejudice here in Mick's new home.
  • Mick made new friends that he liked to gossip and have casual conversations with. Mick did not have any American or german friends. Mick believed he and his friends should to keep to them selves. Mick was almost happy.
  • Mick met his unfortunate end after only 6 years of living in America. He died of Cholera. Many of the people who were on the same boat as him died as well. Many were not buried or had tombstones.
