- Even after returning home, school was still shut down until further notice so Maddy had to collect her things from her dorm. Her decorationswere taken off the wall, her stuff was shoved into the bathtub and into trash bags, her organizes in her drawers were broken, and her clothes were a mess in her drawers because they were put in her closet vertically. There was no longer carpet in her room
- alright send me the address ill pick you up tomorrow
- mom, you need to come get me. I can't stand Samantha anymore she keeps being mean.
- Even after returning when Nicholls resumed normal operations, she had no carpet, just a giant rug that didn'tfit the entire floor. She had even accidently left one of her Starbucks cups in her dorm and it was gone when she came back for school.

- Even after coming back from summer break, Maddy came back to a damaged dorm with unfinished sheetrock, and no carpet just a giant rug again ... but at least this one was prettier than the previous one.
- They kept getting into little fights and bickering until Maddy couldn't take it anymore and called her mom to come pick her up and bring her back to their hotel room in Alabama
- Maddy spent a little over a week in the hotel with her mom and stepdad before they got word that power was restored to their neighborhood
- When they got there, they had to throw out both fridges they had, and vacuum out standing water in the garage. Maddy's paw paw's house (which her mom now owned) had been worse. All three garages collapsed and everything inside was ruined
