- If all of us as a community plan to move west we must find a way to safely get to the west in approximately a few days.So come up with ideas for us to move west.

- I have an idea...Why don't we make up a railroad that takes people across the west within days?It should be called the Transcontinetal Railroad

- WE MUST FINISH THIS FAST
- Back in 1863 people had no transportation to go places. They had to go on foot or use animals. No one was able to go to places safely and there were no roads.
- Then people started thinking, what can we do to get to places. How can we travel and look for a new land? This lead to the idea of the transcontinental railroad. "The Transcontinental Railroad Act is the first step in creating a continetal common market". -Charles R. Morris
- The transcontinental railroad started in the 1860s and people started building it. The people who would build the transcontinental railroad are Chinese people. More than 15,000 Chinese worked because they got paid less which benefitted the U.S.
- The workers built day to night every day over the continents and in long distances. Many workers had a lot of obsta\cles. Many suffered in the heat and some even died. Many workers weren't paid enough as well.
- They must be real tired.
- In 1869 the transcontinental railroad was finished and people weren't able to struggle anymore. The word got around and many people started getting on the railroad.
- WOOHOO!!!!! FINALLY! NOW ONTO THE WEST
- The railroad traveled from the central pacific to the union pacific. Railroads have been getting better now in days and the U.S stillusues railroads for many different things.
