- Rainsford was smoking a pipe after everyone had gone to bed when he heard gunshots. He went to the railing to look but dropped his pipe over the edge. Without thinking he lunged over to try and grab it and fell off.
- A Clever Escape
- What a waste! Oh well, I'm hungry.
- After swimming for a while, finding an island, and venturing through a forest, Rainsford came across a big mansion and was invited inside by General Zaroff. He asks him if he would like to hunt people with him to which he politely and not so subtlety declines.
- A Duel
- Well hello
- After a little while Rainsford decided to set a trap in order to help his survival. This trap is called the Ugandan Spring Trap. He ended up stabbing Ivan and effectively killing.
- The Most Comfortable Bed
- This is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!
- Rainsford took a chance and jumped into the water after Zaroff almost caught him. Zaroff just assumed he had drowned but he was actually still alive.
- Rainsford swam back to the mansion and when Zaroff returned to his room he was very surprised to see him. They agreed to have a fair duel. The winner would sleep in the comfortable bed of the mansion.
- After the fair duel Rainsford was declared the winner. Zaroff died and was fed to the dogs by Rainsford. We don't know the end of the story but most likely Rainsford stayed in the mansion and spent his life there.
