Introduction
Suicide is the third leading cause of death in people aged 10-24. As the percentages rise, can we look to the school system to be a cause and effect? In Disturbed Girl's Dictionary, Macy is excluded and seen as an outcast. Many people who suffer from depression feel as if they are differnet from everyone.
Anxiety in childhood is linked to depression as an adult. Today's school system leaves many children with feelings of unworthiness and a sense of guilt. An estimated 3.1 million adolescents aged 12-17 had at least one major episode of depression. Only 19% receive help. School seems to have an effect.
