Odyssey Part 1

Odysseus and his men leave Troy. This represents the known world for there is nothing supernatural or problem about the war

Odysseus and his men fight the Cicones, an ally of the Trojans. They beat them and destroy and loot the city until the Cicones kill 72 of Odysseus' men. This also represents the Known world for the Cicones are regular people.

The ships get caught in a storm and are blown off course. This represents crossing the threshold for this is when they will start encountering supernatural objects and people.

You three go scout ahead.

Odysseus and his men arrive at the land of the Lotus Eaters. He sends 2 soldiers and a runner to go scout ahead.

The three men are drugged by the Lotus so Odysseus has to bring them back to the ship

This represents the tests for they are figuring out if the Lotus eaters are friend or foe.

Odysseus arrives at the Island of the Cyclops. He brings 12 of his best fighters and some gifts to go meet the cyclops. This represents one of the tests, it is the first major battle and test Odysseus will encounter.
