  • Jen then asked him what sign he would want to carry at the rally, and this freaks luke out. jen said it like there was no question and that luke wanted to go to the rally, but the truth was, he didn't. The thought of them all getting shot by population police came into his mind and he delivered the sad news that he would not go. he tried to tell jen that she shouldn't either, but it was no use. jen got angry and told luke to leave.

  • luke was worried about jen, so he found a good time to come over to see if she was there. when he arrived, it wasn't long before he was told to turn around slowly or he would be shot. It was Jen's dad. after luke asked where jen was jens father said something shocking. Jen was dead. she and all of the other third children were all shot and murdered before the rally even started.

  • Luke had nothing to do but listen as jen's dad told him everything. she had taken one of their cars and she picked up a bunch of children in the area. when they arrived at the presidents house, it was only a matter of moments when the police showed up and shot all 40 of them. they were even nice enough to give jen's dad jen's body.

  • Just as Luke was about to lose his mind and scream, he heard something that had always been in his worst nightmares. it was a knock on the door. it wasn't just a delivery guy or something like that. it was the population police.
  • LUke panicked and Jen's dad threw him in the closet and told him to hide. after a long while and muffled voices, the Jen's dad opened the closet and told him they were gone. He then gave luke a fake ID.
  • luke gets his own id and begins his new life as lee grant. saying goodbye to his family, with the possibility of never seeing them again.
