- Yes, i did and its very sad because coral reefs are accounted for 25% of marine life. Not everyone knows they are endagered and some dont even know what coral reefs are. So what are coral reefs.
- coral reefs are a large underwater structure composed of Skeletons of invertebrates called coral. .
- There are alsomany types of coral and they have many different shapes and colors.
- Coral have many benefits they act as a nursery to many small fish and also control the carbon dioxide in the water
- Cora reefs also protect shores and acts as a home to fish. Now that we know what they are why are they endangered
- They are many factors that play into why they are becoming endangered
- for example natural causes such as whether conditions and predation but also human activity
- The factors such as pollution and whether and fishing and other activity caused the coral reef to be very stressed
- this causes them to expel the microscopic symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which is what they feed off of. This causes the coral to turn white also known as bleaching
- coral reefs are endangered and we can help them survive by doing many different things
- Such as holding unethical businesses accountable and also trying to limit pollution and littering
