- I'm sorry you couldn't make it either. I'm sorry you weren't there to see my dad try his best to be upbeat. I'm sorry you weren't there to watch me totally lose it and explode in tears.
- Yo, Matt, I'm sorry about your moms, man. Y'know...Mrs. Miller was like a second mom to me, and I'm so, so sorry I couldn't make the funeral.
- Matthew, if you work here, you'll never be able to eat here again. If you need a job, I'll pay you a couple of bucks to help me out down at the funeral home.

- Listen, we gotta get you to the hospital. Your father . He's in the hospital.... He's been hit by a car.
- Matt came back to school after days of being absent. The reason for his absence was due to his mother's passing. Chris came over to talk to Matt, expressing how sorry he was since he wasn't there at the funeral.
- Matt came to the Cluck Bucket after school to get a job. He got an application and sat down until Mr. Ray arrived. Mr. Ray offered Matt a job at the funeral home as he and Matt's mother are good friends.
- After coming home from work and getting food with Chris, Matt went home. He was dreaming until he heard a knocking on the door and his name. Mr. Ray was at the door and informed Matt that his father was hit by a car and is in the hospital.
