Testo Storyboard

  • Yes! This means that we transfer our valence electrons to each other. I have 1 and you have 4.
  • Yep! I'm a non- metal
  • Hi! I'm Alexa Cesium, you can call me CS. So you're a non-metal?
  • Oh really? Tell me more!
  • So that means if I'm not a metal and you are, we can bond ionically?
  • Hello! I'm David Carbon, you can call me C.
  • Yeah! and you are a metal huh
  • If a non-metal we're to bond together it is called covalent bonding. It means the interatomic linkage that results from the sharing of an electron pair between two atoms.
  • What will happen if an another non-metal bond to me?
  • Ohh that's cool.
  • What if another metal bond to you?
  • Oh If another metal and I can bond it is called metallic bonding. It may be described as the sharing of free electrons among a structure of positively charged ions which is called a Cation.
  • So what do all these types of bonding really do?
  • Ionic bonds have high melting points, hard but brittle, and can dissolve in water. While covalent bonds have both, lower melting point and lower electrical conductivity than ionic bonds. Last, metallic bond, have melting and boilingpoints, but low volatility.
  • Well, what does chemical bonding mean?
  • A chemical bond is a lasting attraction between atoms, ions or molecules that enables the formation of chemical compounds. The bond may result from the electrostatic force of attraction between oppositely charged ions as in ionic bonds or through the sharing of electrons as in covalent bonds.
  • Sure! Bye!
  • Wow! You know a lot of bonding huh
  • That's amazing! Well thanks for telling me about chemical bonding! I learned a lot! and... I got to go home.
  • Okay, you're welcome! Let's bond next time!
  • Bye!! Take care!
  • Yeah, I read the chemical book.
  • THE END...
