- One may not know what breaking in is, so I will explain it to you. It is when a horse is taught to be ridden to your master's will, not your own. You might see this as a good thing as it is, but for a young colt, it is a particularly scary experience. I was taken to a new place where the man breaking me in can do it with his convinience.
- When I was being broken in, it was very painful and scarring. The first thing they had to give me was the bit. Oh how horrible it was, having a thick metal rod stuck in your mouth. And then there were the horseshoes, that was not have as bad, but it was still scary. Having a large piece of petal hammared into your feet doesn't sound all that pleasant, does it?
- During my breaking-in, I stayed in a barn with the cows and sheep. There was an occasional train here and there. The first time, I was horrified, and ran to the other side of the meadow. But later on, I have realized that the train would never harm, I was just as calm as the cows and sheep. That is how I would break in a horse.
