Testo Storyboard

  • Sure, I'd love too!
  • I don't understand what Cellular Respiration is... can you help. Ms. Smith didn't explain it very well.
  • First we start with the glucose that is made from photosynthesis. In a process called Glycolysis, glucose goes in and is split into two pyruvates. ATP and NADH also go out.
  • Where do the two pyrates go?
  • The second step in Cellular Respiration is the Krebs Cycle. In this cycle the two pyruvates and oxygen go in. The energy stored in the pyruvates creates NADH and FADH2. CO2 and ATP also go out.
  • What happens to the NADH and FADH2 next?
  • The NADH and FADH2 go out of the Krebs Cycle and into the Electron Transport Chain, the third step in Cellular Respiration.
  • What goes on in the the Electron Transport Chain?
  • This is the most important step. O2, hydrogen, NADH and FADH2 all go in. The oxygen and hydrogen combine to create water. Then ATP synthase then creates 34 ATP molecules! That's a lot of energy for the cell.
  • WOW, that is so interesting. Thank you so much! I finally understand what Cellular Respiration is.
