Testo Storyboard

  • Diapositiva: 1
  • Hey guys, today we are going to do a fun activity using our circle banner.
  • The OT is going to run a group session on boundaries using a banner with 6 different colors representing 6 different amounts of space.
  • Diapositiva: 2
  • To test our understanding, I am first going to give you a scenario. And I want each of you to stand as close or as far from me as you think is appropriate.
  • To see how well Ryan and Joey understand boundaries, the OT is going to test them with a scenario
  • Diapositiva: 3
  • I've got this!
  • I already know this
  • I am a stranger, and you see me coming towards you on the walking trail. How far away do you think you should stand from me?
  • Joey is beginning to show the pre-contemplation stage. He is sure he already knows this topic.
  • Diapositiva: 4
  • Joey, you are a little too close. Do you see where Ryan is? That’s it Ryan, you are a good distance away.
  • The OT here, is going to point out who is correct. Watch and see how Joey reacts.
  • Diapositiva: 5
  • I am not too close. You are wrong. You are all wrong.
  • Joey does not believe he is wrong and is not accepting what the OT is saying. Joey reacts negatively seeing no problem with his positioning.
  • Diapositiva: 6
  • Look Joey
  • That's okay Joey. We don't always agree. But we are all going to learn boundaries using my Circles Banner.
  • The OT is going to bring out a visual of her Circles Banner. This will help the boys better see what each amount of distance looks like.
  • Diapositiva: 7
  • These colors mean nothing
  • I love colors!
  • Here I have a circle that has 6 circles inside of it. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. They each represent a different amount of space.
  • Diapositiva: 8
  • To begin, we are going to define each of the colors together, so we all know what they represent.
  • Diapositiva: 9
  • Private space doesn't exist
  • Red is the stranger space, Orange is the wave circleYellow is the handshake circleGreen is the far away hug circleBlue is the big hug circle Purple is private space.
  • Joey is still not demonstrating the understanding of the "problem"
  • Diapositiva: 10
  • Not again!
  • Now that we know what each colors means, lets practice again. If I am a stranger and you see me coming on the walking trail, what color should you be in?
  • Diapositiva: 11
  • I think Orange!
  • I think Green!
  • Joey and Ryan are going to try to identify, using their colors, the best place to stand when passing a stranger.
  • Diapositiva: 12
  • You are both right that we don’t want to be in purple or blue, but green is still to close. Orange or red would be the appropriate distance.
  • Joey is demonstrating that he still is not understanding boundaries like Ryan is. Joey is still in the pre-contemplation stage seeing "no problem."
