Testo Storyboard

  • I'm so sad, I don't know where to go. I picked up this crochet kit, and I need to deliver the finished crochet to the day care where it will be used. But I don't know how to get there. I wish someone would help.
  • Ribosome
  • That is really sweet of you young man. Thank you very much. I will stop crocheting for now. I will continue when I get to the day care.
  • I can help you get to the day care, I was just headed there. I can drop you off there so you can deliver your crochets. However, you are going to have to stop crocheting for now because it won't fit in my car if you keep doing it.
  • Ribosome
  • I just followed the huge day care banner, and found my way here. Now I will take your leave that I have dropped you off to the Day Care.
  • Day Care
  • Thank you soo much! But how did you know the way to get here?
  • A ribosome (old lady) in the cytoplasm of the cell binds to a transcripted RNA sequence (Crochet set) and starts to translate it into proteins. The protein (finished crochet) needs to be delivered to the ER (Day Care) so that it can be used.
  • A Signal Recognition Protein (Young man)(SRP) binds to the ribosome, identifying the signal sequence made by the ribosome (crying). Once the SRP binds to the ribosome, it blocks elongation so that the ribosome doesn't continue translation of the RNA sequence before it gets to the ER.
  • The SRP is guided to the ER by a membrane bound receptor that binds to the SRP and helps the ribosome attach to the protein translocator so it can start elongation of the protein into the ER. The SRP also unbinds from the ribosome once at the ER membrane resuming elongation. The SRP then sets out to find other ribosomes to guide to ER membrane.
