- Josh, we'll go in and catch up with the larger group of scouts.
- I'm glad you always take me on scout trips with you, dad.
- NO TRESPASSING
- Don't be scared I'll take you out.
- I can't see anything, it so dark. Get me out of here!
- We should get going and climb out of the cave.
- Sounds good to me!
- At the entrance of the cave, there was a weathered sign that said no trespassing. The seal of the cave was eroded by wind and water.
- We'll find him.
- I had a feeling something like this was going to happen.
- Josh and his dad met up with the larger group of scouts and one of the boys started to panic.
- Stop talking. I hear a small voice crying for help.
- Did you hear that noise?
- Josh's dad, Terry, took the frightened boy to the entrance of the cave. Terry assumed Josh stayed with the group of scouts.
- I've been praying you would find me. I never lost my faith.
- Josh! We found you!
- All the scouts came out of the cave. It wasn't until 9:30 pm that Terry realized Joshua was missing. Joshua's mom, Janeen came in from Salt Lake City. They were all worried.
- Dogs and rescue teams searched and searched. Finally, John Skinner, a mine historian, knew Joshua was still alive and in the mine. He took 18 rescuers and searched for Joshua. He knew they would find him.
- Joshua, had been in the mine 5 days, before rescuers found him. How could a young boy survive this long? Joshua said, "I prayed a lot to be found."
