- Pathogens such as a COVID-19 cell seen entering here can enter the body at any time at any place from something as simple as talking to someone or not bathing properly
- Once the pathogens enter the body they rapidly reproduce and start killing your blood cells which will cause a problem by making you unwell.
- The pathogens will eventually run into the immune system, here you can see pathogens have gotten to the first line of defence which consists of things such as skin, tears, mucus, acid, friendly bacteria and white blood cell.
- Sometimes the pathogen can get past the first line of defence hence bringing in the second line of defence into battle. The second line of defence usually consists of cells such as phagocytes as seen which swallow the pathogen and kill it.
- If the pathogen gets past the second line of defence your body or brain comes into full defence mode and goes all out with B cells with antigens contrasting the antibodies on the pathogen and eventually either ends up dying out or killing the pathogens in 14 days.
- After the pathogen is killed by B cells some of the dead cells, antibodies, and memory cells can be left flowing in the blood stream so in case it returns the body will remember what it is and be ready for it. Therefore meaning you are immune to the pathogen now.
