  • Madam Magloire is a traveler. She visited Paris, France to see the Eiffel Tower 1063ft high. The tower casts a shadow on the ground. She stands at the end of the shadow and meausres the angle of elevation of the sun to be 34.1 degrees.

  • Madam Magloire's next destination is the Leaning Tower. of Pisa. The tower tilts 5 degrees. Suppose someone drops an object from the tower at height of 150ft. Madame Magloire is curious to know how far from the base of the tower the object would land?

  • The top of the lighthouse is 94.65 meters aways from the dolphin
  • After visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa, she then went to the coastal. She then spotted a dolphin in the distance. The lighthouse is about 40 meters tall and the angle of inclination between the dolphin and the lighthouse is 25 degrees. Madame wanted to know how far teh dolphin is form the top of the lighthouse. So she uses sine to find out.
  • 40 meters
  • sin25°= 40/x 40/sin25°=xx= 94.65
  • At the end of her adventure, Madam Magloire wanted to try the hot air balloon so that she can see the whole scenery of the places she just went to. The balloon flies to a height of 32ft. She estimates that the hot air balloon is 14ft away from her. To calculate the angle of inclination she uses the inverse tan. Tan-1 (32/14). So the angle is around 66 degrees
