  • Rudolph Fisher was born In Washington DC in 1897 in Washington DCHe resided In the Harlem Neighborhood of NYC from 1923 to 1937He was a Radiologist with a Radiology office in NYCand was a novelist who wrote many books. Rudolph Fisher alsograduated Classical High School in 1915 with honors and went on to resume his studies at Brown University. Rudolph married in 1923 to Jane Ryder and had a son Hugh in 1926. He unfortunately passed away on December 26, 1934 of abdominal cancer most likely caused by his work in radiology and radiation poisoning. He played a large role in the Harlem renaissance which took place during the 1920s and the early 1930s. The Harlem renaissance was a cultural revival of the history and music of African American Music with ties from and influence from Paris, France.
  • I played a big role in the Harlem Renaissance and led a career that at the time I was alive was very dangerous but I still managed to succeed.
  • Not only was I a successful Radiologistbut I was a successful novelist and wrote a few books such as "The Walls of Jericho" I was also a physician
  • Rudolph Fisher was based in Harlem and completed much of his Radiology studies there. At the time, Harlem was a historically black neighborhood with much culture at the time. During this time, the Harlem renaissance was a movement of reviving African American music and Culture.
