Overcoming adversity makes people stronger

An armed man pointed his gun at Salva's chin when Salva tried to move towards the men's group. Salva then thought of his family, and that made him mentally stronger.

The fact that Sudan did not have any clean water caused Salva to create an inspiring organization that provided Sudanese people with drinkable water.

Ender gets bullied by Stilson and his friends on earth. Ender defends himself by kicking Stilson multiple times before Stilson is bleeding on the floor. Ender made sure that Stilson would never bully him again.

Ender learns that the humans were really the more violent species, and the buggers are actually a peaceful species who work together. Therefore, he creates his own planet and culture to help the buggers thrive again, after destroying their civilization.
