- Person v. Person
- The text states, ¨I´m going to be a factory girl, Triphena... How can you get to Massachusetts? You've no money for a coach fare. I´ll walk, she said proudly. A person should walk to freedom.¨ -P.G.45
- Person v. Self
- This conflict is Person v. Nature because Lyddie and her family are having a conflict with a bear. The bear enters their cabin and destroys everything and makes a huge mess. A bear is an animal and animals are part of nature.
- This conflict is Person v. Person because Lyddie is having an argument with the mistress and Lyddie ends up getting fired. The mistress is also a person, so the conflict would be person v. person.
- This conflict is Person v. Self because Lyddie has to make a tough decision with herself about whether she should beg for pardon and keep working at the tavern or if she should leave and walk to Massachusetts to become a factory girl.
