- Firemen, Pg.55 “We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal as the constitution says, but everyone made equal. Each man the image of every other then they are all happy.”
- Explanation: Picture all of the same size and color houses. If everyone is the same everyone can be happy because everyone would truly be equal, They think you become equal, disagreeing with the constitution.
- Montag, Pg.62 “ Im so mad, and I dont know why. I feel like im putting on weight. I feel fat. I feel like Ive been saving up a lot of things,and i dont know what. I might even start reading books.”
- Explaination: Montag is confused and doesn't know what to think or feel because what he has know his whole life had changed and suddenly this thing hes been burning and destroying he now wants to have.
- Clarisse, Pg.6 “ My uncle drove forty miles an hour and they jailed him for two days, isnt that funny and sad, too?”
- Explanation: In this dystopian society it is the law to go extremely fast on the highway 100+ mph , Government control jailing someone for going slower on the highways shows that they want people to fall in line and arresting someone by going slow.
