Today we will be talking about Charle's Law, Charles law is an ideal gas law that states that if a given quantity of gas in held at a constant pressure, it volume is directly proportional to the absolute temperature.
And I'm marie
How do gas laws apply to hot air ballons?
Hot air is lighter than cool air because it has less mass per unit of volume. To keep the balloon up, they have a burner that heats the air inside the baloon using propane.
Charle’s law says that the volume of a gas is directly related to the temperature of that gas, similarly when gas is heated like aburner in a hot air balloon, the gas expands. so when the air inside the balloon expands, it becomes less dense andprovide the lift for the hot air balloon.
Jacquer charles, a French inventor, scientist and mathematician created the concept that gases expand when they are heated in 1787
He conducted an experiment that involved 5 balloons that had the same volume with different gases.
He concluded that the volume of gas at constant pressure increases with the absolute temperature of the gas.
Charles raised the temperature, to 80 degrees, Celsius and noticed they all increased in volume by the same amount.
