- In this scene, Troy and Rose are having a conversation about Gabriel health . Rose seems concerned about Gabriel not eating well that she suggest that Gabriel should be taken to the hospital because he would be taken care off really well but Troy says no because he doesn't want to lock Gabriel in a hospital .
- In this scene,Troy has just been promoted to being a driver after he went to the commission office to make a complain on why the colored people are lifting the garbage while the whites are driving the truck. This shows family responsibilities because Troy is willing to work hard to provide for his family .
- In this scene , Cory is mad at his dad for canceling him from the football team and also not having the opportunity to be seen by the recruiter . Troy makes the decision to go to Cory's school to cancel him from the football because Cory lied to Troy
