Testo Storyboard

  • This is Abraham Lincoln. When he was younger, his family used to own a farm. His mother died at child birth in 1818 and his father remarried a woman named Sarah Bush Johnson who Lincoln later referred to as "angel mother."
  • Lincoln was a smart kid and a quick learner. He said that he used to go to school "by littles," so he was mainly self-educated and read a lot of books.
  • I admire political politicians like Henry Clay and Daniel Webster who were in the Whig Party.
  • I joined the Whig Party and got elected 4 times to be a member of the Illinois State Legislature! I believe in advocating for the federal government to develop the country's resources by means of a national bank and more.
  • I went against my rival, Stephen A. Douglas, and others for president. I won the election and was the first Republican to win. I became the 16th president.
  • I'm Stephen A. Douglas and I was trying to pass a bill that would allow slavery in the Louisiana Purchase and let Nebraska & Kansas to decide if they wanted to be slave-states on their own. (which Lincoln was against)
  • Things kind of got crazy after the election of 1860, apparently the election and me winning was the tipping point of the Civil War. Seven whole states seceded before I even became president, then there was the Confederate Battle... it was never-ending.
  • Back to talking about the Civil War, there were a lot of reasons of why it began but the biggest issue was slavery. One day, I created the Emancipation Proclamation, which freed all slaves from the rebel states, and that totally changed the mood of the war. Eventually the war ended because the Confederate general surrendered to our general.
  • Abraham Lincoln was shot in Peterson House, Washington D.C. on April 15,1865. He died not even a week after the Confederate 's surrender. He left a legacy after his death, he preserved the Union, helped the death of slavery, and the vindication of democracy.
