Hello, today I'm going to be teaching you about the DNA Replication!

The DNA Replication is the process of copying and duplicating a DNA molecule.

DNA Replication takes place during the S phase of Interphase.

The are three main steps in DNA Replication. The first step being to unwind the two strands of DNA which is called the Helicase.

The second step is when the DNA polymerase - joins individual nucleotides producing a new DNA strand. The strands are antiparallel from each other.

The DNA strand elongates in a 5'-3' direction. The strand being built in the 5' to 3' direction is the leading strand. The strand in the 3' to 5' is the lagging strand(Okazaki fragment). The DNA ligase then connects the fragments.

Lastly, for the last step. After the strands are joined the telomere adds short repeated DNA sequences to the telomeres.
