Testo Storyboard

  • Jim was trying to perform his usual shot but then he saw that he was shooting the ball at a 50 degree angle like he always does and his normal distance from the rim was 10ft but he was missing the shots. He realized that the baskets height was wrong and wanted to figure out how high up the basket is.

  • After using the equation tan(50) x 10, Jim found out that the basket was 12 feet instead of the normal 10. Now Jim will have to get used to the tall basket and see at what angle he will have to shoot the ball.

  • Later Jim decided to go continue practicing. He moved a little to the back to see if he can shoot it better than last time. After using the equation cos-1 (15/17), Jim knew that to make the shot he needs to shoot it at a 28.1' angle.

  • The day after at practice, the Lions had a big game the next day so Jim had to perfect his shot. After shooting on that tall rim, his shot on the normal 10 foot rim is off.
  • To get his perfect shot for the Lions big game the next day, Jim used the equation 10/sin(50) to find his perfect shooting form and he calculated that he had to shoot the ball 13.1 ft towards the basket.
