- Claudia gets home from Georgia and then she greets her mother. A soon as she steps in her house she runs to the phone. She has been parted away from her best friend Monday Charles for the summer. When Monday doesn't answer Claudia's call, she is hurt and curious. The first day of school is tomorrow so her mom calls her down to get her hair done.
- Run in with Michael
- Michael! Why are you here? I'm only having fun with friends.
- Claudia what are you doing here!
- Claudia is still on the search for her best friend Monday. In attempts to find someone to help her she decides to go to her favorite teacher. Mrs. Valente, she was her 7th grade English teacher who she loved and trusted. Mrs. Valente decides that because she knew Claudia and Monday well to help look for her. After Claudia explains that she hasn't seen Monday they drop down to the office. They sit and catch up after not seeing each other for awhile.
- Hunt for Tip Charles
- Alright!
- C'mon just get up and dance!
- But it's the only thing I have of her!
- Claudia's mother makes her attend Harvest Night at their church. She then sees her old peer Micheal. Claudia still hasn't seen or heard anything about Monday. Claudia's mother thinks that Claudia need to make more friends since she hasn't got Monday with her. Her and Michael talk and joke around.
- Police Investigation
- Sweet Pea please give them the journal!
- Claudia gets invited to a sleepover with her friends from the dance team. Since Monday went missing Claudia hasn't had much interaction with friends so her mother decides she should go. Only to find out that they planned on taking her to a highschool party. Claudia and her friends are all dancing and having fun when she runs into Michael. Michael is very surprised to see Claudia here especially since Claudia is only in 8th grade. Claudia is also surprised to see Michael and worried he will tell her mother.
- Claudia and Michael agree to go looking for Monday's father as an attempt to find Monday. They find out that Tip isn't on his shift yet so they sit and wait for him. Monday starts to feel those feelings for Michael that she was feeling at the party. Claudia and Michael talk about her dance and then she puts on a show for everyone there. After talking and hanginout for a while they see Tip locking up his car for his shift. As soon as Tip sees them he gets back in his car and bolts. He is afraid its his daughter, Monday because Claudia and Monday look so identical they could be twins.
- After a series of unfortunate events the police show up. The police are here to investigate the Colemans because they are a second family to Monday. They ask them questions about Monday before she went missing. Its a very tough and emotional time for them. But Claudia has Mondays journal with all of the details of Mondays life. The police have to take the journal from Claudia which is very hard for her considering its the only bit of Monday with her.
