- Help! Someone please call an ambulance!
- Walking to the parking lot from a library lying on the floor slowly bleeding out trying to gasp for air and stay alive is Egon's father, Thomas. Egon panicks and yells for help in an attempt to save his father. Luckily a lady sees the commotion and the body on the floor she calls for help on her cellular device.
- Still mourning the loss of his father Egon refuses to get out of bed, although he still has his studies he won't attend them. Silent and hungry Egon lies down on his bed the same way his father lied on the floor, remembering the lessons on how to use a sword his father taught him but refusing to practice or even pick it up again, thinking on how he could've protected his father .
- After watching the news Egon finds out there is a mysterious murdere wandering around quietly killing people off, he shakes this off thinking it isn't the assassain that killed his father. Until the news shows the bullet used to kill one of their victims and Egon notices it is the same bullet that was used to kill his father. Determined to find this murderer he goes to the attic for the first time since his fathers death and picks up the sword once again.
