- Most Brahmins are very strict with their diets. A majority of them are vegetarian.
- Brahmins are priests. Their jobs consists of teaching,landowners,scribes and government clerks. They are very educated and respected.

- The boys in this level are a symbol of masculinity and the girls have to be well behaved and gentle.
- They govern in a time of peace and are warriors when it is war time.

- They were given credit for the rise of the religious groups Jainism and Buddhism
- Vaishyas are landowners or merchants jobs that people in this level do are trading and physical labour.
- The myth of Purusha believes that the Vaishya's were made from the gods belly.
- Sudras do not have to wear a sacred thread.
- The Sudras are farm workers,manual labors,servants and they are mostly unskilled workers.
- The Sudras may have been descendants of the people who made the Indus civilization
- Every hour two Dalits are assaulted. Everyday two dalits are murdered, three dalit women are raped and two dalit homes are put on fire.
- Their jobs consist of cleaning up human/animal waste,street sweepers and butchers.
- A religious practice known as devadasis is actually a undercover prostitution that pre-teen girls are forced into. Once they are put into it they cannot marry. They are raped by upper-caste men then they are sold to an urban brothel.
