- Gatsby feels uneasy about Tom's visit. Tom is the husband of Gatsby's one love, Daisy.
- Mr. and Mrs. Sloane
- Tom does not remember meeting Gatsby. He is also surprised that his wife is well acquainted with Gatsby. He is suspicious of Gatsby and Daisy.
- I know your wife, Daisy!
- That so...?
- Oh great! Delighted to have you there.
- We'll come to your next party Gatsby.
- Mr. Sloane is not interested in Gatsby's party. It seems like he really just wants to leave.
- Well, we should start heading back now
- Gatsby invited them for dinner because he was curious about Tom and wanted to see more of him. Everyone denies his offer but then Mrs. Sloane invites Gatsby to have dinner at her house.
- Oh please don't rush. Join me for supper! Some other people from NY might come and join us.
- How about you come join us for dinner!
- Well-think ought to be starting home.
- I can't come sorry..
- Then you come Gatsby. If we go now we won't be late.
- Mrs. Sloane invites Gatsby and Nick to dinner. Nick refuses their offer. Mr. Sloane appears to not want Gatsby to come to their dinner party, however Gatsby is not aware of this and agrees to go.
- Come along, Mrs. Sloane.
- Alright then. I don't own a horse but I can follow you with my car. I'll be right back.
- Let's go, stop trying to invite them.
- I think he's actually coming. He won't know a soul there. Doesn't he know she doesn't want him?
- Come on, we have to go. Nick, tell him we couldn't wait, will you?
- Mr. Sloane does not want Gatsby at his dinner party so he leaves Gatsby behind while he's inside getting his hat and coat. Tom talks about how Gatsby won't know anyone at the party. He also talks about how oblivious Gatsby is to the fact that Mr.Sloane doesn't want him there.
- Ok. I'll let him know.
