- Ms.Brown announces that Carla (the one who looks fearful) has to go home and Anita (the girl in the pink dress) is confused because she doesn't know if it is serious, but she knows not to ask any questions. Since they are cousins, if it were bad, surely Anita would know.
- Carla and her family have to leave the Dominican Republic and go straight to America. Anita wishes her the best and says bye to her and her family. Anita starts to question why dis Carla has to leave so suddenly. She realizes that her family is starting to get targeted and has to leave to be safe.
- Many men named The Sim, sit in vans outside of Anita's house and monitor them. They even searched her house as well. They stayed there for a couple of days.
- Anita would constaly ask her mom and dad what was going on, but everyone would ignore her tell her its okay. In addition, everyone was speaking in code, and she felt left out because she was the only one who didn't understand what was going on.
- Chucha the Haitian maid, and her older sister Lucinda, tell Anita that the reason why the SIM are there is because they are after Tio Toni, they are looking to capture him. Lucinda also tells Anita about how their president "El Jefe" or Rafael Trujillo was dangerous and was hurting many innocent people and girls.
- An american family moves n next door to help get rid of the SIM and it works. Their lives becmore normal for a little while and Antia develops a crush on her new neirbour Samuel. Thery become good friends. For Antia bday she gets a diary and in the diary she wrote all about him and everything that is happening in her life. She eareses everything though so the SIM don't find it if they search her house again.
