- Fredrick Douglass bumps into Sandy/an old man in the woods and they start talking Fredrick says that his master is trying to hurt him by whipping him to death and he tells what happened and why he is in the woods and tells his circumstances. And the old man says to Douglass that he can go with him and the old man also said to Douglass that he's going to see his wife that lives in a house that is away from 4 miles away and the old man convinces to go back and carry a certain root with that can keep him safe from any harm. And Sandy is a slave too.
- My master is trying to hurt me by whipping me and i know it´s not the end of it.
- Well, i´m walking to my wife house that´s 4 miles away and if you want you can come with me
- Covey and Fredrick i fighting with each other in the barn because fredrick is tired of convey whipping him. And also convery is trying to whipp Fredrick and Covey tried to tie douglass legs and tie him so Covery can get a hold of Fredrick but Fredrick was not going to let him without a fight. ¨ Mr. Covey seemed now to think he had me, and could do what he pleses,but at this moment t-from whence came the spirt I don´t know-i resolved to fight; and, suiting my action to revolution , I seized covery hard by the thort; and as I did also, I rose.¨
