- A population of fairies begin with one type of allele
- Suddenly, an environmental change occurs.
- Now a mutation happened in one of the genes that were now passed onto their future children.
- Given the mutation, the fairy is easily seen by its predator
- Because of the change in environment, the fairies with no mutations/variations, are now vulnerable to different predators
- Now, a change has occurred. The fairy population has collected all the mutated allele and are therefore hidden from their predators and can thrive much easier.
